As usual, a plan on the previous day formed and this was for several of the k.i.c team to head to west brom' on the wednesday.
So with high hopes for the nikestore outlet and hearing some black-country accents it was arranged that i pick up brad and shrig for about 12ish.
I being i, arrived at brad's over an hour late due to the lateness of the previous night and an emergency which concerned UCAS. boi was i stressin' ! lol. All problems got resolved and after brad climbed into my car we headed to pick up BreadMan. All parties involved were now in the car and ready to roll. By now the time was about 1.30 and i know brad was panicking about getting to town for 5, which was when he started work.
A successful, although slightly long route, to west brom' commenced and we reached there for about 2ish i'd say. We parked up and entered the destination.. niketown/store-outlet-thingy.
A huge disappointment.
The trainer department was saying nothing and so we moved to the garms. A few select items were spotted however no one was really feeling like buying after the excitement-destruction that had just happened.
Whether team morale was low or what, i don't know, but we found the nikepro super-tight (no homo) undergarments and all decided to try them on. (again no homo). I thought it was going to be a big team purchase, because you know how us k.i.c people like to keep active, however it ended up being only me who was feeling them.
Some box switching preceded and i bought two for 12pound. BIG purchase.
Smiles all round.
We headed back to the car just as the down-pour that has pretty much carried on till now started. Duffles and purchases were thrown in the boot as we rushed to get inside.
Seatbelts were strapped and i put the key in the ignition. This is where things went pear-shaped.
My car would not start. i tried several times and man like i was gettin' peed. serious.
After many unsuccessful attempts i gave up. Wallabrad was like he'll call his dad to come out and jump-start it because we thought it must be the battery. Because of my stubbornness i replied with a stern, NO.
The next 30 minutes was kind of hazy but it began with brad and shrig pushing the car through the parking lot at what i must say was a good speed :D:D:D lol them mans were sweating. I put it into gear2 and started the car whilst moving and i managed to get it going.
Maaany blupps and gun fingers were thrown about!!
I kept revs high and drove to the exit trying not to let my car die lol. Got to the barrier just as we realised we had not paid for the parking. Ohh boi. After some serious reversing skills and shirgs jumping out mid-motion to pay the ticket we were back on track.
Drove up to the barrier again and i put the ticket in the machine. JUST as the barrier went up and i prepared to drive forward, the car just died. The revs were not there and neither were our smiles. Bagga' traffic behind.
So for the second time that day shrig and brad jumped out and started pushing.... straight on to a round about. us mans were all panickin' now. I took the first exit off the roundabout and headed down a small side road where I kept continuing to try and start the car.
Brad and shrig by this point had pushed my car a good 300 meters. lol
We pulled up and just started laughing with despair i think. I phoned my dad and told him what happened and could he come to sort it out. nope was the answer. get the bus back. pfff, keith seeley is serious. lol (no worries though, the motto forgive and forget has been implemented) :)
Nonetheless, i did not want to get the bus back from west brom' plus brad had to get to work by 5. I jumped in the car with some serious determination to start it.
One turn of the ignition and it was running again. wtf?!?!
The other two jumped in and we all drove home with looks of surprise, but joy, spread across our faces.
The day went on for me as i headed immediately into town and ran some errands, then went to see my brother in concert at the Symphony Hall. Twas very good.
The night out at the beach party du' got called off as i think most were real tired.
As i said... loong day.
True Story.
rk.
Ps. my car is fine now so mans who are going to manchester in it on Friday need not worry.
Pps. we need to sort manchester out. punks.
