N*E*R*D

Ok, i know i'm abit late on the post but it really doesn't matter. If you are anyone in birmingham, then you must have heard about this event.. and its massive impact on the birmingham audience. Basically, the gig was huge!! n*e*r*d smashed it!!
I cannot put into words the energy and enthusiasm of pharrell and the band and the influence this had on the crowd. It was poppin' lol
Now, as most of those who know me know, i am a dedicated supporter of pharrell, n*e*r*d and startrak, and i would go so far to say that i idolise and worship him/them! lol
These mans kill it.

So going into this event my adrenaline levels were high and expectations even higher. The support act came on to quite a reclusive audience and most people were simply content just head-nodding to the tunes. It was a band signed under the Startrak label called Chester French. Go check them, they are an interesting band and as i said got a few heads nodding.
After the generally subdued atmosphere during and after the support act, i was thinking that this could be a repeat of the fairly recent Lupe gig (for those of you that were there), which was, to put it simply.. weak. (note: no fault of lupe's. the crowd were just not baking it.)

Anyway, after a loong wait with suspense building amongst the crowd, N*E*R*D hit the stage with a huge impact. People were going crazy!. It was the most rammed gig i have ever been to, and i did not realise it up until this point..
Pushing. Shouting. Screaming. Panting.
..the vibe was amazing. pharrell and the boys continued to punch out hit after hit and pleased the audience with many of the old classics. For those that were there for the new album, there may have been slight disappointment, but for the n*e*r*d enthusiasts it was a dream. lol
Even with Chad's missing presence two thirds of the band ripped up the stage and with various members of startrak showing faces i would say that in general everyone was more than pleased.

During the gig i ran into quite a few of the expected faces.. and some unexpected ones (hold tight mike and friends lol).

The set concluded with many girls being pulled up onto the stage whilst Everybody Nose was intro'd and dropped. Including a cameo appearance (on stage!) from Baines. Brapo.

Overall, a massive night out and probably the best gig i have ever been to.
You know it was a serious event when even ant was shouting bare hard lol.

I managed to get a few decent pics:

I enjoyed this gig VERY much. Ant can vouch for how i was feeling at the end.. tired but ecstatic.

yessurrr.
