The Streets

So im heading back early Thursday from the capital to catch a local city poet/ hero by the name of Mike Skinner at the Academy. i jump straight from the coach, meet shrig who kindly takes my luggage from me,and then sister whos gunna be attending the gig with me.

bare tired, quite hungry, and feeling out of touch with reality due to bare lack of sleep at this current point, but im still buzzing about the whole situation, as i'd missed Mr.Skinner the last 2 times hes been around, and also going off a tip off Wallabrad about previous gigs and some of the antics Skinner gets up to on stage.

cut the shit it was a sick night.

the crowd was going mad before the support had chance to pack up, chanting Skinner in the form of a football rant.

crowd ingredients= bare 40 year old skinheads and builders/plumbers/contracters pissed out of their head, bare younger skinheads probably originating from the grounds of ERD and KS smoking the green and looking for a brawl, bare kids who read NME religiously and spend their nights posting bulletins on myspace, and quite strangely, bare female students? which was the first thing Mike picked up on as he walked on stage... "fair few girls girls here tonight aint there?"

managed to bag a Streets Tee much to my delight...





and a sick piece of merch for any fan.... a real Streets lighter....


overall a sick night, living up to, and more of the expectations i had. just wish he'd have done something a little rare and special for his home audience. apart from mentioning Selly Oak hospital for some reason on Never Went To Church?

Blinded by The Lights was also brilliant.
